York County, MorningStar reach an agreement for now | News

YORK COUNTY - After further mediated discussions between representatives of MorningStar Ministries and York County, it was agreed that MorningStar Ministries will prepare a presentation for the York County Council meeting on March 5, 2012.

This presentation will detail a MorningStar proposal to improve and secure the existing building façade and the surrounding parking lot and demonstrate a financial commitment to make these immediate improvements. MorningStar will also propose a series of future commitment dates to complete overall building design, obtain full financing, commence and complete the building construction.

York County has committed to seriously and objectively consider the MorningStar proposal and determine by no later than the Council meeting on March 19, 2012, whether this proposal is an acceptable resolution of the County’s concerns.

Should the proposal be found acceptable, it would become the template for an amended Development Agreement for completing the Tower.  If the Council rejects    the MorningStar proposal, mediation will have ended in an impasse and both parties would be free to pursue any legal actions they feel appropriate to resolve their dispute.
