ROCK HILL - A Rock Hill man, jailed on drug charges, is facing more trouble after police say he rolled a joint using pages of a Bible and smoked pot in his jail cell.
According to a Rock Hill police report, 24-year-old David Allen Henson was slapped with charges after police found a marijuana roach in his jail cell on Monday.
Police pulled over Henson on Monday night, after a woman called police to report him driving erratically along Herlong Avenue near the Piedmont Medical Center. The witness, who followed Henson after calling police, told officers that he ran off the road, hit a curb, flattening his rear passenger tire.
Henson then reportedly got out of the car, checked the air and got back on the road. When officers pulled him over at the Corner Store along India Hook Road, the witness identified him as the driver she'd called about.

Officers approached the vehicle and smelled a strong odor of alcohol on Henson's breath and marijuana from the car, the report states. Officers also spotted loose marijuana on the center console. After making Henson exit his car, the officers found a black bag with a plastic baggie containing nearly 9 grams of pot.
According to the police report, officers also located several prescription bottles that did not belong to Henson. Officers confiscated 28 pills of Alprazolam, 2 pills of Clonazepam and 9 pills of homemade Valium. They also found a glass bottle of Ketaset, several syringes and a set of digital scales.
There was also an open can of Bud Light and an open can of Smirnoff XBT in the floorboard of the car, the report states.
Henson was placed under arrest and told officers the pills were for his dog and the syringes were for his Ketaset. Officers did find items for a dog in the rear of the vehicle, including medication for the dog, but it was separated from the other drugs.
When the arresting officer came to the law center to talk to Henson, he smelled a strong odor of marijuana coming from the jail cell.
That's when the officer found a marijuana roach (a nearly completely consumed joint) made out of a page from the Bible, sitting on the cell bed nearest the toilet. When the officers asked who rolled the joint, Henson took the blame, the report states.
Officers found a small plastic baggie of marijuana (one gram) in Henson's front right pants pocket. He now faces additional charges.
