New Riverwalk Trail Opens | Community Spirit

ROCK HILL, SC -- New views of the Catawba River are available along the 2 ¼ mile Riverwalk Trail which opened to the public on July 1st.
The trail is the first project of the planned Riverwalk community to be completed, along with a new road and parking lot providing access to the trail.
The paved trail meanders through wooded areas with great views of the river. Benches, pet stations and trash cans are located along the trail.
The trail is open 8 am to 8 pm April through September and 8 am to 6 pm October through March. The trail is handicapped accessible.
To access the trail from Hwy 21/Cherry Road headed toward Fort Mill, turn right onto Dunkin’s Ferry Road, shortly before the Hwy. 21 bridge.
Turn left onto Terrace Park and continue to the trail’s parking lot by the trailhead. The Riverwalk Trail is part of the City of Rock Hill’s Trails and Greenways System as well as the Carolina Thread Trail, a regional network of trails and greenways spanning 15 counties and connecting over two million people.
Riverwalk is the planned 1,000 acre residential, commercial and retail community to be developed along the Catawba River, bordered by Cherry Rd/ Hwy 21 and Cel-River Road.
Approximately 250 acres will be devoted to public recreation amenities including river access, additional trails, athletic fields, parks, gardens, a climbing wall, and a variety of cycling venues.
